IT Security Operations Analyst

Stake is looking for an IT Security Operations Analyst to join us at our Sydney HQ, with a hybrid working model (3 days in the office, 2 WFH).

*About this role*

We're seeking a motivated IT Security Operations Analyst with 2–3 years of hands-on experience to join our team on a contract basis. In this role you will support the security operations function by monitoring systems, responding to threats, and ensuring compliance with best-practice security policies. The ideal candidate has a strong technical foundation, is detail-oriented, and is eager to contribute to a fast-paced and high-growth environment. In this role you will:

• Monitor systems, networks, and applications for security threats and anomalies
• Investigate and respond to security incidents, coordinating with internal IT and external stakeholders when necessary
• Assist in the maintenance and improvement of security tools (e.g., DMARC, email security, SIEM, IDS/IPS, endpoint protection, firewalls)
• Provide daily operational support for security infrastructure and tools
• Create and update security documentation, processes, procedures, and runbooks
• Conduct vulnerability assessments and support remediation efforts
• Assist with user access reviews and ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory frameworks
• Contribute to security awareness initiatives and training
• Generate regular reports on system health, incidents, vulnerabilities, and compliance posture

*A bit about you*

• 2–3 years of experience in IT security or security operations
• Knowledge of common security concepts and frameworks (ISO 27001, Essential-8, CIS Controls, etc.)
• Experience with security monitoring tools (SIEMs, antivirus/EDR, IDS/IPS)
• Good understanding of IDP and MDM environment for both Mac and Windows devices
• Strong troubleshooting abilities and understanding of common cyber-attack vectors
• Excellent communication skills and ability to document clearly
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment for ScaleUps, FinTechs or Startups
• Experience supporting compliance audits or assessments
