An opportunity now exists to join a premier value-adding manufacturer specialising in Steel, Aluminum and Stainless-Steel products. With industry-leading equipment, proven expertise and extensive experience, this established and growing organisation consistently deliver exceptional workmanship to a diverse range of clients including commercial, domestic, mining, civil construction, transport, agricultural, structural building and marine applications.
As the Operations Manager, you will oversee an expanding portfolio of projects, implement robust quality systems, and drive business development. This role offers the unique opportunity to apply your expertise in both manufacturing and building industries, as you lead the team in creating high-quality products for off-road campers and construction clients. Your strategic vision and hands-on approach will be crucial in transforming business cycles and establishing the business as a premium supplier in the RV industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership: provide guidance and support to the production team, foster a culture of innovation and quality, work closely with 2IC to align operational goals.
- Business Development and Customer Relations;
sourcing and quoting on new opportunities, maintain existing customer relationships, identity and pursue growth opportunities in the caravan and RV industry. - Project Management;
including overseeing multiple fabrication projects simultaneously, ensure timely delivery and quality standards are met, Coordinate with clients, suppliers, and internal teams. - Quality Management;
including implementing ISO9001, driving continuous improvement and preparing the business for industry accreditation. - Operational Efficiency;
by developing strategies to stabilize workflows, optimize resource allocation and production scheduling, collaborate with 2IC to ensure smooth day-to-day operations. - Technical Proficiency;
Utilize Autodesk Inventor for design and production planning.
Qualifications and Experience:
- A boiler maker by trade background
- Proven experience in operations management within manufacturing or fabrication industries
- Strong background in the building industry, with additional manufacturing experience preferred.
- Demonstrated success in implementing quality management systems, preferably ISO9001.
- Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor or similar CAD software.
- Experience in project management and client relations.
- Knowledge of RV and caravan industry standards (desirable).
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Analytical thinker with a hands-on approach to problem-solving.
