About the Role

As a Disability Support Worker / Personal Care Assistant, you will be supporting participants to achieve their personal goals and maintain their independence in a safe and positive environment. Every day will bring variety — from personal care to community engagement and skill-building activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide personal care, including hygiene, dressing, grooming, and mobility assistance.
  • Support participants in daily living activities such as meal preparation, household tasks, assistance with administering medication, manual handling, etc.
  • Assist with community access, social outings, and recreational activities.
  • Follow Behaviour Support Plans and organisational policies.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation and shift reports.
  • Communicate effectively with participants, families, and other team members.

  • Reliability, empathy, and excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication and problem-solving skills.

Essential Requirements

  • Current NDIS Worker Screening Check (or ability to obtain).
  • Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP) Card – Tasmania.
  • Current First Aid & CPR Certificate.
  • Australian Driver's Licence and access to a reliable, insured vehicle.
  • COVID-19 Vaccination (as per current health requirements).
  • Completion of the NDIS Worker Orientation Module.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Certificate III or IV in Individual Support (Disability or Aged Care) or equivalent experience.
  • Experience supporting individuals with complex needs, disabilities or behaviours of concern.

Job Type: Casual

Pay: $35.00 – $45.00 per hour

Expected hours: 10 – 30 per week
