The Role
Civmec is embarking on a journey of diversification and expansion, and we have an exciting opportunity for Project Managers who embody our values. Due to a strong pipeline of current and forecasted projects, we are currently seeking experienced Project Managers to join our teams in W.A and oversee and manage both Civil and SMP construction projects. These positions offer both local and FIFO opportunities. Our Project Managers are responsible for overseeing all aspects of a project, from initial planning to final completion, ensuring it's delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. The Project Manager also is responsible for liaising with the Project Director daily on matters relating to the project execution.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Defining the objectives, deliverables, and overall scope of the project and implement safety and quality management systems.
- Creating detailed plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
- Identify and submit variations, including cost and schedule impacts.
- Update and monitor project schedules, implementing corrective actions as needed.
- Overseeing the efficient allocation and utilisation of resources, including materials, equipment, and personnel.
- Identifying and mitigating potential risks that could impact the project timeline or budget.
- Ensuring the project complies with all relevant legal, environmental, and safety regulations.
- Execute subcontracts and mobilise subcontract personnel.
- Review subcontractor progress claims and variations.
- Control and coordinate project execution within authority limits.
- Prepare and issue weekly status reports and work schedules and budget estimates.
- Manage and administer the contract safely and efficiently.
- Lead the project team to ensure timely delivery and compliance with client specifications.
- Monitor and report financial performance against the budget.
- Assess risks and hazards to prevent incidents and damage.
- Develop client relationships, ensuring high client satisfaction.
About You
To be successful in the role you will possess the following:
- Tertiary qualifications in structural/mechanical engineering or construction management
- Sound knowledge of the application and establishment of project planning, scheduling and cost control tools.
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar role is preferred.
- Minimum 10 years' industry experience.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient knowledge in MS Office suite.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Strong background in both disciplines and a proven track record of successful project delivery.
