About The Position
As an Outage Manager you will provide major generator and turbine outage expertise for the planning and execution of site works. In this role you will be responsible for managing a team of Engineering, Technical and Trades people with a strong focus on safety, ensuring zero harm during site works.

Key Responsibilities

  • Planning: Adopt a risk based approach in the development of outage management plans, schedules, financial budgets and forecasts, covering all aspects of the execution phase. Identify and anticipate outage related business risks and communicate appropriate controls, ensuring they are implemented and maintained. Ensure the appropriate engagement, supervision and management of contractors.
  • Execution: Work closely with Engineering, Technical, contractors, stakeholders Trades and Support Services in the delivery of maintenance works. Deliver accurate and timely reporting on the teams productivity, financial performance and any issue arising, providing control strategies where necessary. Manage concurrent or sequential programs of works within the site involving trades, supervisors and contractors.
  • Team management and development: Lead the team in achieving long term asset safety, reliability and availability. Establish and maintain a constructive, continuous improvement culture. Development of direct reports through coaching, mentoring, training, instruction, advice and by direct example, setting performance and development goals to support growth.

About the location:
This is an onsite role based in Khancoban, at the foothills of the Snowy Mountains in NSW. The region offers an excellent outdoor lifestyle and relocation assistance can be provided if you're interested in relocating to a location within reasonable commuting distance of Khancoban.

About You

  • Extensive management experience with operation and maintenance responsibilities in heavy or capital intensive industry, with the ability to effectively manage multi-disciplined resources in a diverse industrial environment.
  • Demonstrated project management, safety improvement and engineering skills, with the ability to execute tasks from inception to completion.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to provide coaching in technical and project management skills.
  • Highly developed interpersonal communication and negotiating skills, with demonstrated ability to influence and work effectively with people at all levels.
  • Strong drive to deliver results in a constructive and collaborative manner.
  • Considerable knowledge and skills in Planning, Scheduling, Contract Management and Maintenance Execution.
  • Ability to prioritise in a constantly changing environment.
