Wounded Heroes Australia is a respected national charity providing 24/7 crisis support to current and former Australian Defence Force members and their families. We assist those experiencing financial hardship, homelessness or risk of homelessness, and family or domestic violence.

Our head office, located at the Wounded Heroes Veteran Centre in Bundamba, also serves as a hub for local and veteran community employment initiatives.

About the Role

We are currently seeking a passionate and organised Skilling Queenslanders for Work (SQW) Coordinator to support the delivery of our programs.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a values-driven organisation making a real impact in the lives of veterans and community members facing employment barriers. As part of our growing team, you will support participants in gaining practical skills, real work experience, and successful transitions into employment or further training.

Key Responsibilities

· Assist with recruitment, screening, and eligibility checks for program participants

· Engage with local community partners, Defence, Workforce Australia, and DES providers for suitable referrals

· Support and co-facilitate information sessions and participant interviews

· Collaborate with Program Supervisors to monitor attendance and address behavioural challenges

· Create meaningful employment outcomes for each participant focusing on what they 'can do'

· Supporting SQW programs across different locations including Bundamba and Boonah

Provide tailored participant support including:

· Reverse marketing to local employers

· Enrolment into further education or training pathways

· Guidance on accessing Self-Employment Assistance programs

· Deliver quality post-placement support to ensure sustainable employment outcomes

· Mentoring and coaching participants to maximise individual outcomes

What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate will be a strong communicator with a passion for helping others succeed. You will have:

· A current driver's licence and access to your own vehicle

· The ability to obtain a Blue Card and pass a national police check

· Previous experience in employment services, SQW, or similar programs supporting jobseekers with barriers

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills

· Strong computer skills and attention to detail

· Strong problem solving skills

· Professional presentation and ability to work autonomously

· A flexible, can-do attitude—no two days are the same in this role

· Previous engagement within the local region will be highly regarded
