Sourcing Assistant

About The Role

Reporting to Senior Sourcing Specialist, the purpose of this role is to support the sourcing team by assisting in day-to-day activities, ensuring processes are followed and data is accurately maintained to enable smooth project execution.

Key Responsibilities

• Follow established sourcing processes to ensure product quality, fitness for purpose, and compliance with required specifications.
• Support sourcing specialists and the manager in gathering product information, quotations, and samples.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand basic sourcing needs and assist in providing sourcing solutions.
• Conduct cost comparisons to identify the most cost-effective sourcing options.
• Assist with the preparation and updates of Product Specification Sheets and coordinate stakeholder sign-offs.
• Maintain up-to-date supplier and product data, including managing cost movement approval processes.
• Assist in the management of private and exclusive label projects to ensure timely delivery.
• Support the follow-up of Supplier Corrective Action Requests (SCAR) and help resolve quality issues.
• Participate in ad hoc projects as required.

About You

• Prior sourcing experience is not essential, but any exposure to the import or shipping industry, particularly within an office environment, is an advantage.
• Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
• Effective communication skills and a willingness to learn.
• Proactive and able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, including VLOOKUPs and basic formulas.
• Able to take initiative and work with minimal supervision and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Adaptable and willing to take on new tasks as the role evolves.
• Experience liaising with suppliers in China and other Asian countries; Chinese language skills desirable.
