We are currently seeking a compassionate and skilled Behaviour Support Practitioner to join our team and make a significant difference in the lives of those we support.

Position Overview:

As a Behaviour Support Practitioner at Neta Care Holistic Health Services, you will play a critical role in assessing and supporting individuals with complex behaviors by developing and implementing positive behavior support plans. You will work closely with clients, families, and multidisciplinary teams to identify effective strategies to manage behaviors and promote independence, dignity, and quality of life.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct functional behavior assessments to identify the causes and triggers of challenging behaviors.
  • Develop individualized behavior support plans tailored to each client's needs, goals, and preferences.
  • Implement evidence-based strategies to reduce challenging behaviors and promote positive alternatives.
  • Work directly with clients to provide training, modeling, and support in the application of behavior strategies.
  • Provide support and guidance to families and caregivers, ensuring they are equipped with strategies to manage behavior and support client goals.
  • Collaborate with other professionals (e.g., psychologists, therapists, support workers) to ensure a holistic approach to client care.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of behavior support plans, making adjustments as necessary.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate documentation of client progress, incidents, and outcomes in accordance with ethical and legal standards.
  • Stay up-to-date with best practices, new research, and developments in behavior support and related fields.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Psychology, Social Work, Behavioural Science, or related field (Bachelor's or Master's).
  • Relevant certification or licensure in Behaviour Support or Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is preferred.
  • Proven experience in developing and implementing behavior support plans, preferably in a clinical, educational, or community-based setting.
  • Strong knowledge of behavior management techniques, functional behavior assessments, and evidence-based interventions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with individuals, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to document and report effectively.
  • Empathy, patience, and the ability to engage with individuals with complex behavioral and developmental needs.
  • Experience with clients with intellectual disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, or other developmental disabilities is a plus.
