Behaviour Support Officer – Make a Real Impact with UDC
At United Disability Care (UDC), we empower people with disabilities to live their best lives. Our promise is simple yet powerful: to provide person-led support that helps people love their lives and achieve their dreams. To deliver on this, we need passionate, detail-driven, and motivated people to join our team.
We're on the lookout for a Behaviour Support Officer (BSO) who thrives on organisation, data accuracy, and supporting others to deliver positive outcomes. In this role, you'll be at the heart of our Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) services. Making sure referrals, data, and processes flow smoothly, while supporting Behaviour Support Practitioners and our Clinical Lead.
What You'll Do
- Manage referrals, intake, onboarding, and key documents for clients.
- Provide strong administrative support to the Clinical Lead and PBS team.
- Collect, analyse, and graph behaviour data to support effective plans and reporting.
- Monitor restrictive practice tracking and ensure compliance with NDIS safeguarding frameworks.
- Prepare data review reports and assist in creating training materials.
- Communicate with clients, families, and practitioners to ensure a seamless service experience.
- Champion continuous improvement and contribute to UDC's culture of excellence.
What does a day in this role look like?
This role is unique and is the first of its kind within the UDC team so we're initially we will be looking for the role to be a fixed term for a 9-month period from commencement, with the possibility of extension with the successful growth of this role.
Day One:
Morning – Start the day by checking our monitoring spreadsheets for any key actions. For example, you might notice a Positive Behaviour Support Plan (PBSP) is due for review in three months, so you reach out to the BSP to give them a heads-up.
Midday – New referrals have come through overnight, so it's time to review and sort them. You might identify several requests for Group PBS Supervision that could be a good match, and you begin organising this with the relevant people.
Afternoon – You set aside time to update participant data. This could include reviewing recent incident reports and behaviour records, pulling out key information, and updating each participant's data spreadsheet. You then alert the BSP so they're across any changes or trends.
What We're Looking For:
- Strong administrative and organisational skills, you love keeping things running smoothly.
- Confidence with data processing, analysis, and reporting (Excel and systems savvy).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- A proactive, flexible, and collaborative approach to problem-solving.
