Wollongong, New South Wales, Australia Ello Care Full time $60,000 - $90,000 per year

Ello Care is a registered NDIS provider specialising in supporting individuals with psychosocial disabilities. We offer a unique approach to Supported Independent Living (SIL), where participants live in purpose-built, single-occupant homes designed to promote privacy, safety, and genuine independence. Our SIL model moves away from traditional shared accommodation. Instead, it focuses on creating calm, stable environments tailored to each participant's needs. These homes allow individuals to maintain their own space while still receiving consistent, high-quality support. We are currently looking for a committed and experienced Key Worker to join our team. This role is central to supporting participants with complex psychosocial needs, helping them build structure, maintain routine, and feel secure in their day-to-day lives.

What You'll Be Doing

As a Key Worker at Ello Care, you'll take on a frontline role supporting participants with psychosocial disabilities through structured, consistent, and person-centred support. You'll be working across our independent Supported Independent Living (SIL) homes, each designed for a single participant. These homes are calm, private spaces that allow participants to feel safe, respected, and in control of their environment.

Your role is hands-on and central to the participant's daily experience. You'll be responsible for making sure the home remains clean, safe, and functional, and that supports are delivered with care, reliability, and in line with each individual's routine and Behaviour Support Plan. This includes helping maintain structure, managing appointments and documentation, and working alongside Support Workers to ensure the participant's goals, needs, and wellbeing are consistently met. Through your presence and reliability, you'll play a key role in building trust and stability, both of which are essential for participants living with complex psychosocial needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide practical and emotional support to participants with psychosocial disabilities, ensuring consistent, person-centred care
  • Coordinate daily routines to help participants maintain structure, predictability, and independence
  • Implement redirection strategies in line with each participant's Behaviour Support Plan (BSP)
  • Support participants through behavioural challenges using trauma-informed and recovery-oriented approaches
  • Monitor and review shift notes, handovers, incident reports, and daily records to ensure timely follow-up and clear communication across the team
  • Coordinate and attend participant appointments with medical, psychiatric, and allied health professionals, including managing follow-up tasks and documentation
  • Maintain accurate medication records and oversee the storage, administration logs, and reordering of medications
  • Support the team in managing participant consumables and operational site supplies
  • Ensure each participant's home is safe, functional, clean, and aligned with their support needs
  • Support day-to-day operations of SIL homes, including site cleaning rosters, maintenance checks, and entire site readiness
  • Work closely with Support Workers, Service Managers, and the Operations team to ensure continuity and consistency of support
  • When required, liaise with external providers, families, and key stakeholders to maintain open communication and coordinated care
  • Contribute to a calm, stable, and supportive environment where participants feel secure, respected, and empowered

Skills & Experience Required

  • Proven expertise in the psychosocial disability space, with an understanding of recovery-oriented practice
  • Strong understanding of the NDIS Practice Standards, legislation and quality framework
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including report writing and incident management

Qualifications & Checks

  • Tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology, Mental Health, Disability, or related field (desirable)
  • Valid NDIS Worker Screening Check
  • National Police Check (within 6 months)
  • Current Working with Children Check (if required)
  • Valid Australian driver's licence
