Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role located in Harrisville, QLD, for a Processing Manager. You'll oversee and manage daily processing operations, including the production of camel milk products such as fresh milk, cheese, gelato, and milk powder. The role includes maintaining production schedules, implementing quality control measures, and ensuring efficiency across the processing department.

This position is ideal for someone with a passion for food innovation and a strong interest in R&D. You'll contribute to the development of new, health-focused dairy products and help drive our commitment to creating high-quality, sustainable offerings. The role also involves leading and training processing staff, coordinating with other departments, maintaining compliance with safety and hygiene standards, and troubleshooting operational issues as they arise.

Key Responsibilities

Production Planning & Coordination

• Develop and manage weekly production schedules across multiple product lines including

fresh milk, cheese, gelato, milk powder, and meat.

• Balance farm milk supply with demand across divisions to minimise waste and maximise

profitability.

• Coordinate with Farm and Sales teams to adjust production planning based on supply

fluctuations and sales forecasts.

Quality Control & Record Keeping

• Maintain accurate and compliant records for product volumes, quality assurance, batch

tracking, and daily processing metrics.

• Support data collection for R&D reporting, ensuring all relevant processing and product

development activities are well documented.

Inventory & Stock Management

• Oversee stocktakes and inventory tracking of raw materials, packaging, and finished goods.

• Manage product movement in coordination with Sales and Dispatch.

Compliance & Accreditation

• Ensure operations meet Safe Food Queensland (SFQ) requirements.

• Drive the implementation and maintenance of HACCP systems with a long-term goal of

securing export accreditation.

Product Development & Expansion

• Contribute technical knowledge to support the development of new food product lines.

• Maintain and promote high food safety standards in all operations.

Team & System Management

• Supervise processing staff and ensure all team members are trained in best-practice food

handling and hygiene.

• Use and support the development of management systems using Word, Excel, and other

software tools to streamline operations and reporting.

General Administrative and Compliance Responsibilities

2. Comply with all workplace health and safety regulations and policies.

3. Report any potential hazards, incidents, or near misses in a timely manner.

4. Ensure the processing department always maintains a clean and safe work

environment.

• Work collaboratively with the Tourism Manager, Farm Shop Supervisor, and Processing

Team.

• Support the goals of the broader hospitality and tourism division.

• Confidentiality and Data Protection

• Maintain confidentiality of staff, customer, and company information.

• Ensure secure handling of financial and compliance records.

Qualifications

• Experience in food processing and production management
• Strong knowledge of quality control measures and safety/hygiene standards
• Leadership and team management skills
• Problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities
• Excellent organizational and planning skills
• Ability to work on-site full-time in Harrisville, QLD
• Relevant industry certifications and qualifications (preferred)
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Proficient in computer applications including Word, Excel, and digital management systems, with the ability to adapt to new technologies and streamline operational workflows.
• Comfortable with the physical nature of food production, including lifting, bending, and extended periods of activity.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 – $65,000.00 per year
