Heath & Injury Coordinator

We are partnered with a well-known mining company for the recruitment of a new Health & Injury Coordinator.

The role would operate on an 8/6 FIFO roster from Perth, paid 12 hours per day and at a competitive hourly rate.

This role is responsible for coordinating the Health, Wellness and Injury Management process for the workforce and the company in line with the health and wellness initiatives of the Health and Safety department.

You will:

• Manage work related injuries when they occur onsite inline with the Workers Compensation and Injury Management Act 2023 to achieve best possible outcomes for the injured person and company.
• Assist with the reduction of Workers Compensation Insurance costs
• Provide guidance and support to business areas in the injury management and return to work process for all work and non work related conditions
• Assist recruitment team with assessing pre-employment medical risks.
• Develop and review job task assessments to assist with injury prevention
• Develop and review alternative duties registers to assist with return to work planning
• Assist with collection of injury information for the purposes of injury classification and statutory reporting requirements.
• Monitor contractor injury management process to ensure it aligns with CPM requirements
• Maintain effective communication with referred medical and allied health providers
• Assist with coordinating onsite Health and Wellbeing programs inline with the H&S department plan
• Working with the H&S team on other duties as assigned

In terms of your background, you will have:

• Previous experience in Workers Compensation Case Management - Working knowledge of the Workers Compensation and Injury Management Act and Regulations 2023

• Previous experience in Injury Management (preferably employer based)

• Previous experience coordinating onsite Health and Wellness Programs

• Related qualifications
• Current WA Drivers License
• Able to Pass Drug and Alcohol screening
• Ability to pass full medical including muscular fit and fitness assessment
• Strong knowledge of safety regulations and procedures
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Must be clean shaven for fit test
