About the Role
The Director, Business Partnering & Workplace Relations is responsible for leading and managing the Business Partnering & Workplace Relations Division, including; industrial and employee relations, executive employment, classifications and reviews, major organisational change, workplace behaviours and misconduct management.
As a member of the senior leadership team, the Director will provide proactive, strategic and authoritative advice to the Assistant Commissioner, Human Resources and Victoria Police Command on employee and industrial relations matters. You will enhance service delivery capacity and capability whilst taking a collaborative approach to building relationships with key stakeholders, including unions, to support major change initiatives and organisational priorities.
About You
As an experienced human resources leader, you will bring extensive expertise in delivering diverse HR functions, particularly industrial relations, within complex operating environments. Your proven ability in developing and monitoring key HR/IR strategies will demonstrate alignment with organisational and government priorities.
Your exceptional leadership capabilities will showcase your ability to deliver quality operational outcomes that support strategic direction whilst leading transformational change in complex industrial environments. You will possess advanced communication, negotiation and consultation skills, enabling you to provide high-level advice on complex employee relations matters across all organisational levels.
Through your proven ability to influence and build strong relationships, you will effectively manage diverse internal and external stakeholder groups whilst working collaboratively as part of a strong leadership team. Your demonstrated people management skills will show your capability to lead, build and deliver outstanding performance from teams.
Your experience in developing and reviewing complex workplace relations papers and briefs for senior executive staff, combined with budget management ability, will position you well for this role. You will demonstrate a proven record of ethical behaviour and commitment to Victoria Police's Code of Ethics and Conduct and organisational values of courage, compassion, integrity, professionalism and respect.
