Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and customer-focused Pharmacy Assistant to join our team in the Redlands. The ideal candidate will be passionate about healthcare, possess excellent communication skills, and demonstrate a keen attention to detail. As a Pharmacy Assistant, you will work closely with our pharmacists and support staff to provide exceptional service to our customers and contribute to the efficient functioning of the pharmacy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet customers in a warm and friendly manner, providing a positive and welcoming environment.
- Assist customers in locating and selecting products, offering product knowledge and guidance as needed.
- Take customer prescriptions in accurately and efficiently under the supervision of a registered pharmacist.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the pharmacy shelves, ensuring stock is adequately displayed and readily accessible.
- Handle cash transactions and process payments accurately using the pharmacy's Point of Sale (POS) system.
- Manage inventory levels by restocking shelves, monitoring expiration dates, and placing orders with suppliers when necessary.
- Handle incoming phone calls, inquiries, and prescription refills in a professional and courteous manner.
- Collaborate with pharmacy team members to maintain a safe and compliant work environment.
- Provide information on over-the-counter medications, health products, and basic healthcare advice to customers when appropriate.
- Comply with all pharmacy policies and procedures, as well as relevant legal and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Previous experience as a Pharmacy Assistant or in a customer service role is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Knowledge of pharmaceutical products and medical terminology is a plus.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with customers and team members.
- Exceptional attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in prescription processing and inventory management.
- Demonstrated ability to multitask and handle a fast-paced work environment.
- A friendly and approachable personality, with a genuine passion for helping others.
Working Hours:
This is a part time position, with flexible working hours that may include weekends and public holidays as per the pharmacy's operating schedule.
