Mental Health Practitioner

About the role

Better Together Community Support is seeking a dedicated Mental Health Practitioner to join our team in Atherton, North Queensland. You will play a crucial part in providing comprehensive mental health support and counselling services to our clients in the local community

We are seeking to explore and expand our professional diversity, explore new diverse models of care and we are interested in the intersection of new with existing practice frameworks.

This position can be Full time or Part time, flexible hours possible, by negotiation.

What you'll be doing

• Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop tailored treatment plans for clients
• Provide individual, family and group-based therapy and counselling sessions
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure holistic, coordinated care
• Deliver evidence-based interventions such as cognitive behavioural therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, motivational interviewing and trauma-focused therapies.
• Maintain detailed client records and documentation in line with professional standards
• Participate in continuing professional development to stay up-to-date with best practices

What we're looking for

Essential:

• Relevant Tertiary Degree
• Experience in a similar role, preferably within a community-based setting
• Demonstrated expertise in the assessment and treatment of a wide range of mental health conditions
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to build trust and rapport with clients
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage a diverse caseload effectively
• Commitment to ongoing professional development and evidence-based practice

Desirable:

• Qualified Psychologist or AASW Mental Health Accredited Social Worker with current registration

Remuneration Level will be dependent on qualifications, skills and experience.

Essential Qualifications: Level 4, $44.58-$47.97 per hour.

Desirable Qualifications: Psychologist or AASW Mental Health Accredited Social Worker with current registration: Level 5, $51.00-$53.31 per hour.
