Franchise Accountant

A full-time position is available within the Sheen Group Head Office for a Franchise Accountant.
The role is based in the Burnley office but would also see the successful applicant travel to the various Sheen Group locations throughout Melbourne to assist and review bookkeeping procedures and management reporting.

Your duties will include, but are not limited to:
- Review franchisee monthly reporting, wages and supplier payments;
- Hire, train and provide bookkeeping support, including assisting sites with accounts payable, receivable, payroll and preparation of monthly reporting - month end journals, reconciliation of accounts and resolving issues as required;
- General Ledger Maintenance and monthly reporting of various Head Office Trust entities;
- Statutory compliance – prepare/review/lodge BAS, IAS, Superannuation, Payroll Tax, Workcover;
- Assist in the development and maintenance of accounting procedures and training guides;
- Assist the business with process improvement and change management.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Diploma or Degree in Accounting;
- Drivers licence;
- Proficiency using MYOB software;
- Proficient in AP, AR, Payroll and Month end reporting;
- Previous experience in the smash repair or wider automotive industry will be highly regarded;
- Well-developed organisation and administrative skills, including strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritise and control own workload;
- Demonstrate effectiveness in contributing to a team, including the capacity to review and improve workplace practices;
- An ability to interact proactively with all levels of the organisation;
- Well-developed computer literacy skills with Microsoft Office suite and intermediate excel skills;
- Excellent written communication and interpersonal skills;
- Indicates through actions and decisions a sense of importance to get the job done; focuses on the most important things; takes actions to overcome obstacles and seek solutions;
- A positive attitude with an energised approach.
