Insurance Solicitor

About the role:
This is an exciting opportunity for a Solicitor or Senior Associate to join our Insurance group in our Brisbane office.

• Providing clients with legal advice on indemnity, liability, quantum and third party contribution
• Regularly reviewing applicable case law and legislative changes
• Conducting effective legal research and analysis to produce timely, commercial and legally accurate advice
• Attending settlement conferences and mediations
• Instructing counsel at court applications and trials
• Managing a robust workload, including prioritising work and delivering services effectively
• Effective communication with stakeholders to achieve valued customer experience outcomes
• Developing an understanding of client operations and strategy
• Managing prospective client relationships
• Continual professional development and managing MCLE requirements

About you:

• 4+ years' PQE
• A desire to be an integral member of a strong, cohesive and down to earth team
• Excellent work ethic and problem solving skills
• Strong attention to detail, time management and organisational skills
• A genuine commitment to customer experience
• Previous exposure to Business Development and a natural ability to build strong client relationships
• Ability to manage client expectations and run matters autonomously
• Interested in establishing a long-term successful career with Colin Biggers & Paisley
• Ability to relate to people at all levels and effectively work in a team
• Commercial acumen
• A strong, plain language communication style
• Previous experience in managing workers' compensation common law claims highly desirable
