About the organisation
South Eastern Melbourne Primary Health Network (SEMPHN) is one of six Primary Health Network organisations in Victoria and thirty-one nationally. Its vision is to improve health outcomes for its 1.6 million residents across the south-east Melbourne community. Governed by an independent board and primarily funded by the Australian Government, SEMPHN focuses on the priority areas of mental health, alcohol and other drugs, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health, aged care, population health, workforce development and digital health.
About the role
Reporting to the Executive Director, People Communications and Engagement Services, the Director Communications and Engagement is responsible for developing and implementing internal and external communication strategies, and plans and activities that enhance the profile and reputation of SEMPHN. The role will lead the communications and engagement function, fostering an inclusive team culture built on trust, empathy, mutual respect and collaboration and provide professional advice, coaching and support for their team. This significant role will support the organisation's Path to Impact Strategy, contribute to and lead strategic projects, deliver measurable meaningful outcomes, build excellent stakeholder relationships, and foster and support a more equitable, person centred and seamless health system.
About you
You are an accomplished health care communications and engagement executive with experience in not-for-profit, aged care or health related government settings. An exceptional people leader, you are a skilled strategic leader, critical thinker and problem solver. With an empathetic and inspiring approach, you excel at building and leading high-performing teams that are organisationally aligned and focused on achieving outcomes. You possess strong analytical, financial management, business process, project management and policy skills. Proficient in influencing for impact, you have a proven track record in relationship management, and effectively engaging stakeholders and articulating plans and outcomes. Knowledge of Australia's health care system or the role of primary health networks is beneficial.
