Job Description

We're currently seeking Yard Drivers to join our team. This role is ideal for individuals who thrive in hands-on operational environments and want to build a long-term career in rail. You'll be working across freight networks including coal, iron ore, grain, general freight and work trains, supporting both mainline and yard operations.

Job Requirements

As a Yard Driver, you'll play a key role in supporting safe and efficient train and wagon movements. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Driving and operating locomotives and shunt vehicles in yard environments
  • Planning and performing marshalling and shunting operations
  • Coupling, uncoupling, loading and moving rolling stock safely
  • Operating points, signals and communication systems to required protocols
  • Conducting safety checks, pre-start inspections
  • Identifying and managing hazardous situations in line with safe work practices

Job Responsibilities

We're seeking motivated individuals who are:

  • Safety-first, reliable and detail-oriented
  • Physically fit and comfortable working outdoors in varied conditions
  • Strong communicators and team players
  • Willing to complete training, and inductions

To be successful, you must:

  • Be able to pass a Category 1 Rail Medical and Drug & Alcohol test
  • Have or be willing to obtain a National Police Clearance
  • Hold a valid C Class Driver's Licence
  • Be committed to following structured procedures and safe work practices
