About the Role:
Step into a senior leadership position as a Consultant Paediatrician and help shape the future of child and adolescent health in regional South Australia. Based in Port Augusta, you'll deliver high-quality paediatric and neonate care while supporting integrated service delivery across the region and state—including outreach to northern country hospitals and engagement with the broader children's health network.
You'll provide expert clinical services, contribute to quality improvement initiatives, and support evidence-based practices that enhance outcomes for children—especially Aboriginal children—through culturally appropriate care. This role also includes contributing to the development of tertiary services with a strong focus on early intervention and maternal-child health.
You will maintain detailed clinical records using Sunrise EMR & PAS, participate in on-call rosters, and play an active role in clinical audits and review programs. As a mentor and educator, you'll support junior medical staff and participate in both undergraduate and postgraduate paediatric teaching. Looking for a change in scenery? – Medical Workforce
About You:
- FRACP and eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia in general paediatrics and child health.
- Previous experience working in a public hospital setting.
- Experience in teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
- Experience in, and commitment to, working within a multidisciplinary team with an interdisciplinary approach to services.
- A formal Credentialling and delineation of scope of clinical practice will be undertaken prior to appointment.

- Total Indicative Remuneration (TIRP) includes award salary, managerial allowance, remote call allowance, professional development, A&R Allowance, Super, Private Practice Arrangements (if applicable).
- This is a multiple positions part time vacancy, hours to be negotiated and salary will be adjusted according to actual hours worked. Applicants are encouraged to discuss the flexible working arrangements for this role.
- Appointment will be subject to a satisfactory Criminal History Check and Immunisation compliance as indicated on the Role description.
- SA Health Services are required to implement the Addressing vaccine preventable disease: Occupational assessment, screening and vaccination policy in the workplace.
