Azooa is seeking to
engage a highly experienced and driven Aviation Systems Architect
to support our submission for
RFQTS 16668
—a major opportunity with
Army Aviation Command
under the
Defence Support Services (DSS) Panel
.

This role will be instrumental in supporting the evolution and integration of
C4IEW capabilities
(Command, Control, Communications, Computing, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance) within Army Aviation platforms. You'll be joining a fast-growing, 100% Australian-owned consultancy that works exclusively on projects that matter—

About the Opportunity

As a
Systems Architect – C4IEW
, you'll support the
Systems Section
within the Directorate of Aviation Capability Management, helping ensure that Army Aviation systems are fully integrated with broader Defence systems—both current and future. You'll deliver expert technical guidance on C4ISR system architecture and integration, while also ensuring compliance with Defence frameworks, testing, certification, and stakeholder engagement.

Key Responsibilities

Provide expert advice on the
design, integration, and implementation
of C4ISR systems for Army Aviation

Lead compliance with
Defence and civilian standards
, including system testing, verification, and certification

Enable
digital modelling and interoperability
between aviation platforms and Defence command-and-control systems

Collaborate with Defence stakeholders to develop architecture plans, identify integration issues, and define information exchange standards

Prepare and deliver
monthly progress reports
, technical updates, and performance insights as required

Maintain alignment with Defence Capability Life Cycle, Army HQ Modelpedia, and the Defence Contract Management Handbook

Establish and maintain a network across Defence (military, APS, and contractors) and industry partners

Communicate clearly and effectively with the
SO1 Aviation Systems
and other Defence decision-makers

Apply
industry best practices
in systems engineering, risk management, and digital transformation

To Be Successful, You'll Need

NV1 Security Clearance
(minimum) – must be active or reinstatable

Proven experience in
Defence systems engineering
, systems architecture, or C4ISR system development

Deep understanding of C4IEW components in a military/aviation context

Experience working within the
Defence Capability Life Cycle
and delivering capability outcomes

Excellent communication skills—both written and verbal—with the ability to influence and build trust

Strong documentation, reporting, and stakeholder engagement skills

Familiarity with Defence standards, including
Modelpedia
and relevant engineering handbooks

Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and as part of a collaborative Defence delivery team

High level of professional integrity, commitment to security, and compliance with all Defence frameworks
