As Next Door opens into Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner service, we are looking for a passionate and motivated salad hand to join our dynamic kitchen team. As a salad hand, you will be learning and working under the direction of senior chefs, assisting in food preparation, maintaining kitchen cleanliness, and ensuring high standards of food quality and presentation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Food Preparation: Assist with preparing and assembling ingredients for daily kitchen operations.
  • Cooking Assistance: Help in cooking and preparing dishes according to the menu and recipes.
  • Kitchen Maintenance: Ensure all workstations are clean, organized, and well-stocked.
  • Health & Safety: Adhere to food hygiene and safety regulations.
  • Learning & Development: Work closely with senior chefs to learn and refine culinary skills.
  • Stock Management: Assist with inventory control and stock rotation.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Previous experience in a professional kitchen (could be an entry-level role, internships, or training).
  • Skills: Basic knife skills, knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards, and the ability to work under pressure.
  • Personal Attributes: A passion for cooking, willingness to learn, strong teamwork skills, and a positive attitude.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $26.00 – $27.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 20 per week
