Embedded Expertise have secured 3 X key roles with one of our blue-chip clients whose global portfolio of operations offers a diverse and inclusive environment with potential career opportunities. Reporting to the Manager of Control Systems and supporting the Lead Engineer, you as the Control System Commissioning Engineer will provide specialist advice and deliver commissioning activities for ABB systems on an offshore project.

Essential Skillsets:

  • Commission of ABB 800xA Control Systems
  • Configure and test AC800M Controllers, including Hi Controllers (Safety)
  • Support integration of third-party PLCs and associated systems
  • Assist with troubleshooting and reliability improvements during commissioning
  • Ensure compliance with safety and cybersecurity standards
  • Provide technical documentation and commissioning reports

About You:

  • Demonstrated commitment to health, safety, and environmental responsibility
  • Strong technical skills in ABB 800xA and AC800M controllers
  • Knowledge of Power Management Systems (PMS) and Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS)
  • Familiarity with networking, IEC61850, and cybersecurity principles
  • Experience with ABB Historian products (Information Manager, History, S+ History) would be ideal, together with condition monitoring
  • Ability to communicate effectively across all levels
  • Offshore experience will be highly regarded

Qualifications & Certifications Required:

  • Tertiary qualification in Electrical or Mechatronic or Control Systems
  • Functional Safety qualifications (i.e. TUV Certified Engineer) will be highly regarded.
  • TBOSIET, MSIC etc, will be covered if they have expired.
