Job Description:

Role: SENIOR BUSINESS ANALYST

Location: Sydney

Salary $80,000 Per Annum Plus Super

About the role:

As the Senior Business Analyst, you will be responsible for getting the business ready for successful migration by conducting the process mapping, data mapping, data analysis, gathering business requirements and engaging with different stakeholders. You will engage with an impressive range of senior stakeholders in an agile delivery environment.

The business analyst will be responsible for working between business operational stakeholders and technical systems administrators to ensure that product is available, scalable, and ready for business implementation at the defined project sites.

The Business Analyst is responsible for ensuring that true business needs are clearly identified and stated. This includes all requirements needed to deliver and maintain the solution such as required performance, tools and reporting.

The successful Business Analyst will have the ability to manage requirements to ensure optimum outcomes.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

Business & Systems Analysis

·       Create and/or document the Scoping Documents, Requirements (BRS/User Stories as required by the project, and as input into the Solution design.

·       Documenting clear functional and non-functional requirements and processes, such as business, performance, operational, system, reporting, scalability, and/or usability requirements.

·       The As-Is diagram depicts the organization's current process, culture, and capabilities. The To-Be diagram depicts the future state of the organisation, including its processes, culture, and capabilities.

·       Strong understanding and use of modern digital frameworks and their methodologies, including Scrum, lean, design thinking, human-centred design, multivariate testing, process mapping, flow charting, continuous improvement, test automation and others

·       Proven track record in communicating requirements both verbally and through user stories, with logical and clear acceptance criteria, that are easily understood by developers, testers and stakeholders

·       Able to work cross-functionally and align business unit processes to enterprise business processes

·       Comfortable facilitating workshops, presenting at showcases, leading customer journey walkthroughs and quality reviews with stakeholders of varying seniority

·       Manage the scope of the requirements documentation and ensure that change management procedures are followed.

·       Create a traceability matrix to ensure that requirements are managed throughout the project/program's lifecycle.

·       Promote process improvement by documenting areas for improvement, initiating discussions, and/or ensuring that the proposed solution addresses such areas.

·       Demonstrating a passion for agile ways of working.

·       Prior experience with, and strong comfort using, collaboration tools such as JIRA and Confluence to document and manage stories and other documentation

·       Self-motivated, ability to work autonomously and a team player

ICT Solution Design & Implementation Support

  • Translate business requirements into ICT system solutions in collaboration with development and architecture teams
  • Support implementation of enterprise applications including ERP, Data systems, analytics platforms, Migration and workflow tools
  • Assist in data migration, system integration, and configuration activities
  • Participate in solution design reviews to ensure alignment with business needs

Stakeholder & Vendor Management

  • Act as a key liaison between business users, ICT teams, and third-party vendors
  • Facilitate workshops, requirement walkthroughs, and solution validation sessions
  • Manage stakeholder expectations and ensure timely communication of changes and impacts

Testing, UAT & Change Management

  • Develop and execute test scenarios, test cases, and UAT plans
  • Coordinate and support User Acceptance Testing and defect resolution using tools such as JIRA
  • Support change management activities including training, documentation, and user adoption

Reporting, Data & Continuous Improvement

  • Support reporting and analytics initiatives using Power BI, Tableau, Cognos, or similar tools
  • Analyse data to support operational, compliance, and decision-making outcomes
  • Identify opportunities for process automation and efficiency improvements

Skills & Experience Required

Essential Skills

  • 8+ years' experience as an ICT Business Analyst
  • Strong experience in requirements elicitation, documentation, and system analysis
  • Proven experience supporting enterprise ICT systems (ERP, Data Systems, Migration, workflow, analytics)
  • Strong understanding of SDLC, Agile, Scrum, and Waterfall methodologies
  • Experience with UAT, testing coordination, and system implementation support
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills

Qualifications

·       Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical field.
