Director - Planning and Infrastructure Economics - Adelaide

Our overarching goal is to enhance communities by delivering infrastructure that meets today's essential needs while laying the groundwork for a more prosperous and resilient future.

We recognise the importance of not only addressing current demands but also shaping the long-term wellbeing of our cities through strategic planning and investment.

By identifying and prioritising projects that deliver lasting, sustainable benefits, our Planning & Infrastructure Economics team is committed to building stronger, healthier communities now and for generations to come.

Your Opportunity – Director

The Director role in our Planning and Infrastructure Economics group is a new leadership position in Adelaide, aimed at advancing our people and clients' success.

We seek a strategic leader to help grow our South Australian practice.

The successful candidate should be an industry expert who drives client growth, fosters positive team culture, and delivers results. Our team provides strategic advice on transport, social, and energy infrastructure projects.

As Director, you will work closely with our national team while driving local opportunities in the South Australian market through:

  • Developing policies, strategies, feasibility studies, and business cases for investments in transport, social and energy sectors.
  • Engaging directly with clients to understand and solve their challenges, preparing and delivering proposals, and overseeing the successful management and delivery of projects.
  • Introducing new local client relationships, nurturing existing ones, and actively building our presence at industry events, particularly within the cities and precincts space.
  • Providing expert advice and thought leadership internally (both locally and globally) and externally across transport, social, energy, cities, and precincts markets.
  • Building and leading a cohesive, delivery-focused team, emphasising ongoing growth and learning for all members.
  • Supporting and expanding our reach into new or emerging client sectors and types of work, including urban planning initiatives.

How are you extraordinary?

  • You are considered a specialist in transport, social or energy infrastructure across advisory, economics or strategic planning.
  • Facilitating better community outcomes through enhanced infrastructure planning is a passion and expertise.
  • You are an active thought leader (or have the desire to be) in a range of strategic, technical, and business issues impacting our clients and markets.

Your Experience

At KPMG, we believe diversity of thought, background and experience strengthens relationships and delivers meaningful benefits to our people, our clients, and communities. You will bring to the team your qualifications, skills & experience such as:

  • Leadership experiences in similar consulting, advisory or inhouse roles across transport, social and energy infrastructure projects, locally or globally.
  • A proven confidence to substantially contribute to the successful generation of new work opportunities.
  • Strong numerical, analytical, and strategic thinking skills and demonstrated experience in the economic, financial assessment, investment decisions and strategic planning of infrastructure projects.
  • The ability to build and maintain client relationships and develop a presence at industry networking events.

Qualifications

Tertiary qualifications, such as Urban/Town Planning, Geography, Architecture, Environmental Studies, Economics, Engineering or similar.
