Split Set Mining Systems is an innovative independent steel manufacturing company. We operate from our premises in Welshpool, where we manufacture and distribute welded mesh products and associated products to the mining industry.

We currently have a role to be filled across Afternoon Shift for a machine operator and leading hand.

Initial training will be on day shift with a transition to afternoon shift when training is completed.

Initial employment will be casual with a move to perm on successful completion of probation

What will your role include?

  • Operating mesh welding machine
  • Meeting daily production targets / KPI's
  • Machine set up and troubleshooting
  • Operating overhead cranes, loading machines with coils
  • Working in manufacturing environment.
  • Pre-start machine checks, WHS compliance and in process QA checks.
  • Machine Maintenance & Trouble shooting
  • Overseeing a small team
  • Working in team environment

To be successful in the role you'll need.

  • Experience in manufacturing or steel industry an advantage but not essential.
  • Mechanically minded, physically fit, motivated, attention to detail
  • Forklift licence
  • The ability to follow safe work procedures.
  • Reliability, positive attitude, transport to and from work
  • Undergo pre-employment medical checks.
