Job Description
We are recruiting a Principal Consultant based in Sydney or Adelaide. With your knowledge and experience gained in the following areas, you will lead client projects and grow our business:

  • Asset management frameworks, approaches, tools and methodologies (CAMA or IAM qualifications are favoured, but not necessary)
  • Industry and asset challenges our rail, power, water, aviation and/or defence clients face in delivering effective asset management outcomes
  • Sector-specific knowledge such as rail, power or water, with an understanding of sector assets, regulatory and safety frameworks
  • Growing teams and developing long-term relationships with key stakeholders

You will lead a variety of consultancy projects for our infrastructure clients, from technical advice right through to transformational programs. With a passion to help clients get the best from their assets, you will identify, pursue, and deliver work for transport sector clients, with the support of our Technical Directors and Consultants/Senior Consultants.

Locally, we are a small and flexible team, and you will be an integral part of our leadership. As well as client delivery, you will have a key role in shaping our strategy, identifying new opportunities, and mentoring and growing our team.

As part of the global business, you will also work with AMCL and Turner & Townsend colleagues across the world, contributing to thought leadership and developing new services relevant for our local markets.

Qualifications

  • Degree level qualification preferred (engineering, business, economics, or other relevant field), or technical qualifications gained in industry
  • Significant experience working in one of the following:

  • Rail/transport sectors in Australia, New Zealand, and/or the UK

  • Power sector in Australia and New Zealand
  • Water sector in Australia, New Zealand and/or the UK
  • Other asset-intensive industries including aviation and defence

  • Exposure to regulatory frameworks for the relevant sector(s) and deep understanding of sector challenges and opportunities

  • Experience leading teams to deliver quality outcomes, including line management, performance management and mentoring
  • Growing professional networks through proactive industry engagement and professional membership bodies
  • Proven experience delivering quality service to internal or external customers, with good communication and ability to build rapport
  • Business planning, including commercial management, risk management and planning

Desirable Experience (not Essential)

  • Asset management capability assessment and improvement road-mapping
  • Delivering transformational, multi-year programs
  • Asset management software system management or implementation
