Lead a specialist team managing the Premier's Department and Cabinet Office's IT infrastructure. Drive the delivery of secure, scalable and high-performing technology services that support Ministers, executive leadership and sector-wide applications at the heart of NSW Government operations.

About the Role

As our new
Associate Director, Infrastructure Operations
, you will lead a team delivering secure, stable and resilient IT infrastructure across the Premier's Department (PD), The Cabinet Office (TCO) and Ministerial offices.

You will be part of the Corporate Services Group, within the Digital and Information Branch, which provides the technology foundations that enable the Premier's Department to deliver effective, secure and responsive services.

You'll oversee critical technology environments, including cloud platforms, networks and Microsoft 365 services - ensuring strong cyber security controls, operational performance and business continuity during high-demand periods such as elections and leadership transitions.

This role offers the opportunity to shape digital infrastructure that supports whole-of-government outcomes. You'll drive innovation, modernise systems, and strengthen resilience while mentoring a skilled technical team to deliver impactful, customer-focused technology services.

We're Looking For

We're seeking an experienced IT infrastructure leader with strong technical depth, strategic insight, and the ability to deliver in a complex, fast-paced environment.

  • IT Infrastructure Leadership and People Management:
    Proven experience leading multidisciplinary technical teams and fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture
  • Infrastructure and Cloud Expertise:
    Significant experience managing enterprise IT environments, including networks, cloud, and Microsoft 365 services
  • Cyber Security and Risk Management:
    Significant understanding of cyber security requirements, data protection, and compliance requirements
  • Service Management:
    Demonstrated experience in adhering to ITIL or ITSM methodologies to deliver reliable, customer-focused IT services and continuous improvement
  • Project and Vendor Management:
    Strong record of leading complex technical projects and managing external providers to achieve value and efficiency
  • Qualifications:
    Relevant tertiary qualifications in Information Technology or a related discipline. ITIL and Microsoft 365 certifications are highly regarded.
