About the role:
As the Infrastructure Engagement Advisor, you will play a key role in supporting the planning and delivery of our complex infrastructure projects through effective stakeholder engagement. You'll design, implement and evaluate engagement plans that manage risks, enhance stakeholder involvement, and contribute positively to Unitywater's reputation.
You'll work closely with internal teams and external stakeholders, facilitating discussions, working with delivery partners to develop engagement materials, maintaining accurate records, and reporting on engagement outcomes. This role also supports continuous improvement by staying up to date with best practice in engagement and public participation, while helping to ensure the privacy, safety, and wellbeing of all involved.
This is a permanent full-time role based at our Maroochydore Head office working 36.25 hours per week, reporting to our Infrastructure Engagement Lead.

- Relevant qualifications in strategic stakeholder engagement, communications, marketing, public relations, or a related field.
- Experience in a stakeholder engagement role, preferably in an infrastructure or project-based, delivery-focused construction environment.
- Strong understanding of engagement principles and methodologies, including public participation best practices.
- Excellent interpersonal and relationship management skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust across diverse stakeholder groups.
- Confident verbal and written communicator with strong facilitation and negotiation skills.
- Demonstrated ability to analyse complex issues, identify risks and opportunities, and contribute to decision-making.
- Highly organised and proactive, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Current C Class Driver's Licence and Queensland Working with Children Check (Blue Card).
- IAP2 Certificate in Public Participation (desirable but not essential).
