About Us: We are seeking a motivated Apprentice Heavy Diesel Mechanic to join our dedicated team at our workshop in West Gosford. We specialise in servicing and maintaining our own fleet of vehicles, which includes rigid trucks, prime movers, trailers, and construction and plant equipment. Join us and gain hands-on experience in a supportive, professional environment while expanding your skills in mechanical maintenance, metal fabrication, and auto electrical work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in maintaining and servicing a safe and reliable fleet of vehicles and equipment
  • Perform basic and major truck and trailer servicing in compliance with NHVR accreditation
  • Use workshop tools such as air jacks, rattle guns, and general hand tools
  • Work on modern trucks and equipment, including Isuzu, Kenworth, DAF, Kubota, CAT, and Hyster Forklifts
  • Monitor and inspect plant equipment as required
  • Learn and assist with metal fabrication tasks as part of your skill development
  • Gain exposure to auto electrical work to broaden your technical abilities

Skills and Experience:

  • Currently enrolled or planning to enroll in a Heavy Diesel Mechanic apprenticeship
  • A strong interest in heavy vehicle maintenance and repair
  • Reliability, energy, and a positive attitude toward all tasks
  • Eagerness to learn and develop your skills in the industry
  • Ability to work in a team and independently
  • Good attention to detail and accuracy in recording repairs and servicing
