About the Opportunity

We are seeking a Principal Mining Engineer to take a lead role in shaping how Micromine brings our advanced underground solutions to market. This senior position represents the next step for a Principal Mining Engineers or experienced Senior Mining Engineers who are ready to expand their influence, drive product adoption, and act as trusted advisors to clients and internal teams.

As a key member of the Micromine Australia team, you will work at the forefront of our technical presales efforts, championing our underground software suite and ensuring its successful implementation across client operations. You will play a pivotal role in guiding solution design, driving customer engagement, and positioning Micromine as the partner of choice in underground mining technology.

Reporting to the Technical Services Manager, your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading technical presales efforts with strategic clients and opportunities.
  • Partnering with business development managers to identify, develop, and close opportunities.
  • Delivering high-impact technical demonstrations and input into proposals and tenders.
  • Leading complex software evaluations, proof-of-concept builds, and client workshops.
  • Guiding customer success during onboarding, implementation, and training.
  • Representing Micromine at industry events, conferences, and promotional campaigns.
  • Acting as a senior voice of the customer, providing insights and feedback to influence product direction.

About You

You are a seasoned Mining Engineer with significant underground operational and planning experience, now ready to step into a principle, market-facing role where you can influence technology adoption and customer success.

Your experience and attributes should include:

  • Significant experience in mine planning with exposure to UG Metals environments.
  • Proven track record in Reserves, LOM planning, budgeting, and forecasting
  • High-level competency in mine design and scheduling software
  • Strong communication skills and ability to liaise across technical, production, and corporate teams.
  • Technical consulting, pre-sales, or solution-selling experience highly advantageous.
