Your 12-week fundamental training is now complete, and we are excited to open up the Social Worker – Mental Health Accreditation Registrar program. We believe in the power of a multidisciplinary approach, and our team of professionals includes psychologists, social workers, counsellors, a psychiatrist, occupational therapist and physiotherapist – we are excited to expend this team
Position Overview:
The role works across a number of programs including NDIS, Medicare funded services, assisting participants to apply for NDIS and to provide culturally sensitive and effective mental health services to adults from CALD backgrounds who are experiencing severe and complex mental health issues. This position offers a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of individuals within our community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments and diagnostic evaluations for clients with severe and complex mental health conditions.
- Develop individualised treatment plans, incorporating evidence-based practices and cultural sensitivity.
- Provide individual and group therapy sessions, ensuring culturally competent care.
- Offer immediate crisis intervention and support to clients in need.
- Collaborate closely with our multidisciplinary team and external stakeholders to ensure holistic care for clients.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with program guidelines.
Qualifications:
- Social Worker with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Social Work
- Experience working with adults with severe and complex mental health issues, particularly from CALD backgrounds.
- Strong understanding of Medicare, NDIS, and PHN program guidelines and regulations.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Cultural competence and sensitivity.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
- Strong problem-solving and crisis intervention skills.
- Current registration with relevant regulatory bodies.
