About Paragon:

Paragon is a key player in the specialist engineering consulting field, servicing the infrastructure and building sectors with a focus on ground structures, temporary structures, and bridge & infrastructure assets across Australia. We provide structural & geotechnical design services, asset condition assessment, project management and structural & vibration monitoring to local authorities, infrastructure asset managers and construction companies.

The Role

Due to continued growth, we are searching for a Civil Engineer to join our team — You will play a key role in delivering detailed structural designs and comprehensive reports across a variety of projects. Your focus will be on project delivery -working alongside our structural, geotechnical and site engineers to ensure accurate and design documentation, maintain quality standards and streamline processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Liaise between internal teams (design, geotechnical, structural) and external stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, and deliverables and ensure that client requirements are translated into designs.
  • Coordinate project schedules and track progress, ensuring adherence to delivery timelines as well as attending project meetings and providing updates on project milestones.
  • Conduct inspections and assessments of infrastructure assets, including bridges and water facilities, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
  • Prepare detailed inspection/condition assessment reports, analysis, and recommendations based on findings.
  • Undertake engineering judgement, interpretation and analysis of data to provide practical and commercial solutions.
  • Oversee control of all project documents, including sharing emails, progress reports and technical documentation.
  • Coordinate with other disciplines and external consultants to manage drawing integration.
  • Ensure all drawings and documents follow version control, naming conventions, and client-specific submission protocols.
  • Handle the coordination and submission of drawing transmittals, including upload to client portals.
  • Ensure timely document revisions, track responses from stakeholders, maintain tracking registers and a clear audit trail.
  • Assist with project compliance and quality assurance across various disciplines.
  • Maintain and improve data collection methods, templates and workflows to drive project efficiency.

About You:

  • To be considered for the role, you must have
  • 4+ years of experience as a Civil Engineer within Australia, preferably involving infrastructure assets and multidisciplinary projects. Experience in Shoring and Foundation design will also be highly regarded.
  • A degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Strong knowledge of basic design principles, especially in structural and/or geotechnical projects.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to facilitate effective communication among project teams, clients, and external stakeholders to ensure alignment and stakeholder satisfaction.
  • Strong organisational and switchtasking abilities, ensuring that all project documentation is up-to-date and deadlines are met.
  • Strong technical reporting skills as well as knowledge of Engineering and Drafting software.
  • Software proficiency: in Project Management software, MS Office and Excel - including knowledge of macros.
