The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Mechanical Fitter to join our maintenance team. This role plays a key part in ensuring our production equipment and related assets are operating safely, efficiently, and reliably. You'll perform both planned preventative maintenance and respond to unplanned breakdowns as required.

You're a trade-qualified fitter who thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. You take pride in your work, value safety, and enjoy problem-solving on the tools.

Must Have:

  • Certificate in Mechanical Fitting
  • Current driver's licence

Preferable Experience in:

  • Breakdown repairs
  • Preventative maintenance
  • Hydraulics
  • Pneumatic
  • Process manufacturing
  • Knowledge of plastics
  • Fixed plant
  • Basic MIG welding
  • Overhead crane/dogman

Knowledge & skills required:

  • Safety Health and Environment Awareness: Accomplish tasks with an awareness of Health and Safety concerning self and others, and environment.  Ability to assess the risks and hazards involved in tasks, and methods to manage the hazards in order to prevent incidents, injury and damage.
  • Teamwork/Collaboration: Work effectively with team/work groups or those outside formal line of authority (e.g. peers, senior managers) to accomplish organisational goals. Take actions that respect the needs and contribution of others.
  • Quality Orientation/Attention to Detail:Accomplish tasks through concern for all areas involved, no matter how small. Show concern for all aspects of the job. Accurately check processes and tasks. Maintain watchfulness over a period of time.
  • Technical Knowledge:Keep abreast of current developments and trends in area of expertise.
  • Communication: Express ideas effectively in writing or verbally in individual and group situations (including nonverbal communication). Adjust language or terminology to the and needs of the audience.
  • Innovation:Ability to generate creative solutions to work situations. Willingness to try different and novel ways to deal with problems and opportunities.
  • Self-motivation and ability to work autonomously when required.
