As a result of a secured engagement with one of our National Security partners, Helix requires a DevSecOps Engineer to join us on a long-term contract (12 months with expected extensions).

We're looking for a DevSecOps Engineer with proven experience of solving complex problems, who thrives working as part of a team to push boundaries and is passionate about leveraging technology to produce world-class outcomes for critical intelligence and national security customers.  

DevSecOps Engineer key responsibilities

  • Perform end user support to triage platform incidents and user requests.
  • Develop and execute automated pipelines to support maintenance and deployment of capabilities.
  • Assess, report on and mitigate identified vulnerabilities.
  • Administer and manage the full stack of capabilities within the system with a focus on continuous improvement, including: Microsoft based systems
  • Linux based systems
  • Network and firewall systems
  • Virtualisation covering the breadth of the Software Defined Data Centre (SDDC) functionality
  • Storage systems (physical and virtual)
  • Create and update documentation as needed including detailed designs, release notes, readme, and SOPS.
  • Manage work using an Agile methodology, supporting planning activities, generating tickets, estimating work, and perform backlog refinement as required.
  • Responsibility for the opening and lock up of secure facilities as per roster.

*DevSecOps Engineer essential experience & capability:*

  • Minimum NV2 security clearance with the ability to pass additional security assessments.
  • Demonstrable subject matter expertise within one or more of the following technology disciplines:
  • Microsoft (Windows desktop and server, Active Directory, Group Policy, ADFS, AD Certificate services SCCM/MECM)
  • Linux (Ansible, Satellite)
  • Network & Firewalls (NSXT, Cisco, Palo Alto)
  • Virtualisation (VMware, vRA)
  • VDI (VMware Horizon)
  • Storage (VSAN and enterprise grade physical storage systems)
  • Experience working to a DevSecOps methodology to develop and promote code, with a strong emphasis on delivering a secure end-product.
  • ITIL practices such as Incident, Service Management, Problem Management, and change

*DevSecOps Engineer desirable experience:*

  • Experience working in highly secure domains.
  • Experience developing playbooks to automate a variety of technologies, including Linux, Microsoft and physical infrastructure.
  • Working understanding of the E8 and ISM.
  • Prior experience working in an operational capacity highly desirable
