Due to unforeseen circumstances, the role of Chief Financial and Operations Officer has become available at TSS. As an integral member of the senior leadership team, and reporting to the Headmaster and School Council, the Chief Financial and Operations Officer will possess exceptional financial and commercial acumen and is responsible for the management of all business functions across the school, including the TSS Foundation. The position also acts as Company Secretary to the School Council. The Chief Financial and Operations Officer provides strategic and operational leadership, contributing to the strategic priorities of the school and ensuring effective financial and business operational management of all day-to-day functions at TSS. The successful candidate will be a high performer with an understanding of how the business operations support the educational outcomes for students. You will have a strategic mindset, exceptional leadership skills and strong business acumen to manage a diverse and multifaceted organisation.
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:
- Executive experience, ideally in a school environment, overseeing financial, commercial and business operational matters and reporting to a Board or Council.
- Knowledge and experience in strategic financial management, budget formation, financial monitoring and financial control.
- Strong risk management experience and understanding of the legal and compliance requirements within a school entity.
- Ability to collaborate as part of an executive team and oversee multidisciplinary areas including IT, human resources, marketing and communities.
- Strong project management skills with experience in the management of property and facilities, capital works, and IT projects.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to lead and motivate teams and build professional stakeholder relationships across all levels of the organisation and externally.
- A commitment to the vision and values of The Southport School and support of its Anglican ethos.
