Emergency and Exit Lighting Technician

ARA Fire is one of Australia's largest privately owned Fire Protection and Detection companies. Our Western Australian branch located in Balcatta is growing rapidly and seeking an experienced person to join our dynamic team to assist in our day to day operations.
This person should preferably be a Trade person capable of carrying out Inspection, Testing and defect rectification on existing Emergency and Exit Lighting systems (EELS) to appropriate BCA and Australian Standards. The role will work closely with internal staff and external customers and whilst predominately be focused on EELS the roles will also undertake the similar in Fire Detection and Essential Services.
The person must be capable of inspection, testing , maintaining, fault finding, rectifying, modifying, servicing, on site programming, recording, marking up of drawings and/or repairing components, equipment, apparatus and/or similar devices used in the EELS, Fire Detection & Essential Services Industry
This person shall have the following experience and qualifications;
- Has at least 5 years' experience EELS and field work
- Preferably holds a current Registration card issued by the Australian Communications Authority (Fire Alarm Cabling Registration).
- Preference to a person holding a valid current Electrical Workers Registration to undertake repair/replacement works on 240V AC Systems where required
- The capability to work with minimal supervision or technical guidance in completing their daily tasks;
- Clear understanding the relevant Australian Standards relating to Inspection and Testing and can perform and report on site audits and surveys in accordance with AS/NZS & AS1851.
- Operating a tablet for logging all testing, defects and changes to job site into CLARAFY (ARA service software) daily;

- Is cooperative and obliging yet persuasive with customers,
- Copes with being busy and enjoys pressure and diversity,
- Work within and comply with the companies policies, procedures, instructions and guidelines, including strictly following companies OH&S plans and polices;
- Excellent communications skill and able to successfully work with our clients and always be well presented.
