We started with a vision, and we've stayed true to our four key principles: Open. Driven. Real. Connected. We take a genuinely flexible, people-first approach to our work and company culture – including employee ownership and our permanent 4-day working week.
We're looking for a Medical Writer with a keen eye for detail and a passion for clear, impactful communication to join our team on a hybrid basis in Sydney, Australia.
Reporting to a Principal or Senior Medical Writer, this role offers the chance to develop high-quality scientific content that supports education, engagement, and positive change in healthcare.
A few more details about the role...
Day to day, you'll collaborate with client services, programme development, creative, and editorial teams to deliver engaging materials across a wide range of formats. From training modules and slide decks to abstracts, symposia reports, and manuscripts, you'll play a key role in shaping medical education programmes that meet client needs and resonate with healthcare audiences. This is a hands-on role with opportunities to contribute creative and strategic input, liaise with clients and experts, and grow within a collaborative, supportive agency culture.
- Develop, manage, and deliver a variety of scientific materials—training resources, manuscripts, abstracts, posters, slide decks, and meeting outputs.
- Liaise with clients, KOLs, and external contractors to ensure content is accurate, on brief, and delivered to deadline.
- Support live, hybrid, and digital events, attending meetings, conferences, and symposia as needed.
- Manage project timelines and writing activities in line with agreed budgets and schedules.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align content with creative, editorial, and client service objectives.
- Provide input during project development, contributing both creatively and strategically.
- Support business development by contributing to proposals and, where needed, pitches.
To help you decide whether to apply, here's what we're looking for in our next Medical Writer:
- Experience writing scientific or medical content, ideally within an agency or healthcare communications environment.
- Strong organisational skills - able to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and keep projects on track.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to liaise confidently with clients, colleagues, and healthcare experts.
- A proactive mindset, eager to learn and contribute ideas.
- A degree in a life sciences discipline (e.g. biology, pharmacology, medicine, or related field).
Benefits
- Key benefits include:
- Employee assistance programme
- Enhanced family leave
- Flexible working
- Menopause policy
- Birthday lie-in
- Wellbeing package
- Duvet days/Doona days
- Employee ownership
- Option to purchase additional holiday
This is a dynamic role with a balance of independent project delivery and collaborative teamwork. You will be supported to sharpen your writing skills, expand your scientific expertise, and make a real difference through high-quality medical communications.
