About the Position

We are looking to welcome a Therapist / Psychologist to enhance psychosocial outcomes for children and young people impacted by trauma

  • Full time position.
  • Government funded until 30 June 2026 with possible extension.
  • Level 6 SCHCADS Award. Salary range: $110,110 - $114,982 + Superannuation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a client case load as negotiated with your manager.
  • Identify and work toward client goals and achieve successful case outcomes for clients.
  • Provide an outstanding therapeutic service to children, young people and their families who are referred to the Gladstone Sexual Abuse Counselling service.
  • Provide trauma informed, developmentally sensitive and culturally safe counselling and support to children and young people who have experienced unwanted sexual contact.

About You

  • Tertiary qualifications in Allied Health, Counselling, Social Work, or other relevant qualification.
  • At least two (2) years' experience working with children, young people and their families in similar roles.
  • Experience providing individual and group therapy to children, young people and their families.
  • Understanding of the impacts of trauma on child and family functioning.

Other Requirements

  • Eligibility for a Working With Children Check or professional exemption.
  • Current driver's licence.
  • Legal ability to work in Australia (proof of eligibility required).
