The Role
An opportunity has become available for a Principal House Officer to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.
You will
- Manage patients in the Paediatric Surgery Unit of Gold Coast Health under the supervision of consultants
- Provide high quality patient care through the application of evidence based assessment and treatment
- Attend clinics and theatre lists
- Supervise rotating junior medical officers
About you
To be successful in this position you will require:
- Medical tertiary degree (MBBS or equivalent)
- AHPRA Registration
- Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B
- Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
- Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
- Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

Salary
- Temporary full time (12 months with the possibility of extension)
- Base salary ranging from $ $ per annum

The Gold Coast Hospital and Health Service has a tertiary level unit offering a full range of services. The unit services the entire Gold Coast and Northern New South Wales area. A well-established multidisciplinary team that boasts a close working relationship with the other departments. The Grifith University (co-located) and Bond University have undergraduate medical schools and post-graduate research programs as well as a large private hospital and clinic facilities also available.
