Barwon Coast Committee of Management Inc. manages 21km of Victoria's stunning Bellarine Peninsula coastline, including the beaches and foreshores of Ocean Grove, Barwon Heads, 13th Beach, and Breamlea.

Working in partnership with Traditional Owners, we aim to protect and enhance the natural environment while providing opportunities for residents and visitors to enjoy these beautiful coastal areas.

We operate three caravan parks and a season summer camping ground, with all revenue reinvested into caring for the natural environment and maintaining facilities along the coast for everyone's enjoyment.

We are seeking a Caravan Park Maintenance Officer who will play an important role in supporting Barwon Coast maintain and protect our coastal reserves and caravan parks.

The role is a full time - fixed term position until the end of April 2026. The ability to perform 'on-call' duties and attend the Caravan Parks and other Barwon Coast facilities outside of normal business hours is an expectation of the role. Ability to work weekends and public holidays is also a requirement of the role.

The Role

We're seeking a hands-on Caravan Park Maintenance Officer to support our caravan parks and coastal reserves. This is a vital role ensuring our accommodation, amenities, facilities and surrounds are maintained to a high standard of quality that meets our customers' needs and expectations.

You'll work closely with the Facilities and Infrastructure Coordinator to maintain park infrastructure, respond to customer service requirements, and ensure our facilities operate safely within regulatory guidelines.

This will include:

• Attend to customer service requirements for assistance whilst prioritising requests.
• Perform routine and preventative maintenance to maintain park infrastructure, amenities, facilities and park grounds to a high standard of quality, attending to emergency maintenance as a priority.
• Perform frequent inspections of  Facilities and Infrastructure assets including amenity blocks (including the toilet blocks outside of the caravan parks and camping grounds located on our coastal reserves as required).
• Respond to safety audits (internal and external) as directed by Facilities and Infrastructure Coordinator.
• Respond to Park Emergencies as set out in the Emergency Management Plan.
• Assist in the continuous improvement of the caravan park.
• Monitor and enforce the Parks' conditions of occupancy
• Maintain a safe place of work by adhering to workplace health, safety and environmental protection requirements and pro-actively identifying and reporting any potential or actual safety hazards or issues within the work environment

About you

To be successful in this role you will have:

• "Hands on" practical general maintenance skills with the ability to safely operate plant and equipment generally used in a caravan park.
• Ability to operate small hand tools.
• Experience in identifying and resolving minor maintenance issues.
• Ability to identify customer needs and expectations, decide the appropriate action and respond accordingly.
• Possess the ability to effectively communicate and deal with people with professionalism, courtesy, tact and understanding.
• Ability to work in a team, displaying respect for all members and working cooperatively towards planned outcomes.

Qualifications and expertise

• Trade Certificate/diploma qualification and/or previous practical experience in Caravan Park operations or the Hospitality / Accommodation Industry would be an advantage.
• Driving Licence (essential - preferably manual), Light Truck Licence (desirable).
• The following Certificates, Front end loader; Chainsaw (desirable).
• Experience in identifying and resolving minor maintenance issues.
• Demonstrated experience in liaising with members of the public, being well-presented and friendly and having a strong customer service focus including the ability to manage with difficult situations positively
