Eligibility
Applications for this position are open to Australian Citizens, New Zealand Citizens and Australian Permanent Residents. Appointment to this role is subject to provision of a national police check and may be subject to other security/medical/character requirements.
Role particulars
Location and office arrangements: Canberra (Black Mountain), Melbourne (Clayton), Brisbane (Pullenvale/Dutton Park) or Hobart preferred, other major capital cities considered.
Salary: AU$114,219 - AU$123,605 per annum (pro-rata for part-time)
Tenure & work schedule: Indefinite, full time (Options for part-time, job-share and flexible work arrangements can be discussed based on needs of role and individual circumstances)

The opportunity
We're seeking a strategic and experienced Diversity, Inclusion & Belonging (DIB) Specialist to join our Organisational Development team within CSIRO's People function. As a subject matter expert, you will design and deliver initiatives that strengthen our inclusive culture, elevate DIB capability, and contribute to a future-ready workforce. Working closely with the Culture & DIB Manager and colleagues across CSIRO, you'll help shape the next evolution of our DIB strategy and influence meaningful, evidence-based change.
Your high-level duties will include:
- Co-developing and delivering DIB programs that enhance inclusion and workforce capability.
- Managing DIB governance, Working and Reference Group coordination and external benchmarking requirements (e.g. SAGE, AWEI).
- Supporting the evaluation of programs and strategies using data and evidence.
- Building partnerships across internal and external stakeholders to embed DIB practice.
- Identifying and integrating innovative DIB approaches and thought leadership into CSIRO's ways of working.
As the successful candidate, you will bring:
Essential criteria
- At least 5 years' experience delivering DIB or people-focused initiatives in complex organisations.
- Strong understanding of systems of exclusion, intersectionality, and inclusive program design.
- Demonstrated experience in stakeholder engagement, governance, and continuous improvement.
- Experience supporting DIB governance, reporting, and/or evaluation of initiatives, including experience in analysing organisational data, forming insights, and driving organisational change.
- A relevant qualification in HR, OD, DIB or related discipline.
