Reporting to the Credit Manager, the Credit/Collections Officer will be assigned a portfolio of customer accounts and is responsible for the efficient, accurate and effective collections of all amounts due, resolution of disputes, reconciliation of accounts to progress claims, minimise risk and pro-active debt collection through building and maintaining effective relationships with both internal and external customers.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Own credit issues and develop action plans to resolve any credit issues
- Establish and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders and customers
- Ensure payments are made in line with agreed payment terms
- Ensure high level of accuracy with allocating customer payments
- Ensure proper collection limits are in place for overdue debts
Our ideal candidate is a proactive team player with a can-do attitude and strong people skills. You are solutions focused and enjoy problem solving. Being a high performer, you bring lots of energy and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Skills and experience required:
- A qualification in commerce or accounting with a minimum of 5 years' experience in a credit role
- Knowledge of accounts receivable
- Ability to develop and foster good working relationships
- Exposure to ERP systems - SAP, JDE or Symix is preferred.
- Previous experience working within the construction industry - highly desirable
- Strong attention to detail and exceptional communication skills
