About the role

The Collection Project Officer will assist with a range of Collection Management activities, including the appraisal, cataloguing, and migration of digital media.

You will assist with coordination and logistics activities related to the Digital News Library (DNL) migration project.  Tasks will include the migration of selected digital material, enriching metadata records, maintaining accurate records in accordance with ABC cataloguing standards, validating data and/or correction inaccuracies, and preparing disposal lists of migrated media.

About You

With sound knowledge of archival principles and the ability to apply that knowledge over a variety of broadcast media formats and records, you will also have experience in the use of Collection Management database systems and the ability to apply cataloguing standards and principles across a range of resources and systems with a strong level of accuracy. You will be a good problem-solver, have sound time management skills with the ability to prioritise work effectively and deliver to tight deadlines.

Relevant tertiary qualifications in Library/Archives/Preservation, or equivalent skills, knowledge and experience in the delivery of Collection Management services will be highly regarded.

About ABC Product & Technology:

The Product & Technology (P&T) division is responsible for delivering the technology and services that enable the ABC to fulfil its creative, strategic, and business goals. The scope of activities and responsibilities of the P&T division range from keeping ABC programs and services on-air and on-line, to delivering on key projects, as well as assisting in setting the technology strategy and architecture for the ABC.
