NEW Law is an Incorporated Legal Practice jointly-owned by the NSW Nurses and Midwives' Association (NSWNMA) and the Electrical Trades Union, NSW (ETU). NEW Law also provides legal services to the NSW Teachers Federation and the Independent Education Union. The firm has a strong union base covering approximately 165,000 union members and is a specialised personal injury and employment law firm which prides itself on delivering quality service to union members and their families.
About the role
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Legal Assistant in our Personal Injury Team in our office at Waterloo. This is a 12 month contract position working full-time for a Senior Associate. The hours are 8.30am to 5.00pm Monday to Friday. Staff benefits include a Rostered Day Off (RDO) each month.
The successful candidate is required to have at least two years of legal administrative experience, working in Personal Injury / Workers Compensation, however experience assisting in litigation generally would also be considered. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are a pre-requisite, with an eye for detail, as well as being highly organised with time management skills. Salary to be commensurate with experience.
Experience using legal matter management software, such as LEAP, is a necessary requirement.
The candidate should also be proficient using the Microsoft Office package, (Outlook, Word and Excel) as well as Adobe.
