About the role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Tax Accountant to join the team at MKJ Accounting Consultants' in our Mascot, NSW office. In this full-time role, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive tax advisory and compliance services to our diverse client base.

What you'll be doing

  1. Preparing annual income tax returns for individual and corporate clients
  2. Providing strategic tax planning advice to minimise clients' tax liabilities
  3. Assisting with the preparation of quarterly Business Activity Statements (BAS)
  4. Conducting tax research to stay up-to-date with the latest tax laws and regulations
  5. Liaising with clients to understand their unique tax requirements and objectives
  6. Collaborating with the broader accounting team to deliver seamless client service
  7. Supervising and mentoring more junior members of the tax team

What we're looking for

  1. A bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field
  2. A minimum of 5 years' experience as a Tax Accountant, preferably within a public practice environment
  3. Excellent knowledge of Australian taxation laws and regulations
  4. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  5. Exceptional communication and client service skills
  6. Experience in supervising and developing more junior team members
  7. A commitment to ongoing professional development and staying up-to-date with industry changes
