About The OPPORTUNITY
We have an exciting new opportunity for a
Reliability Engineer
to join our
Maritime Sustainment business unit
based at
Garden Island, NSW
.

You will be responsible for analysing data and trends on maritime equipment and systems, and for providing recommendations that assist in ensuring the effective operation of the equipment and systems until the Life of Type is reached.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Monitor and analyse the ship's equipment, design and systems performance by undertaking Reliability, Availability & Maintainability (RAM) modelling, calculations and data analytics.
  • Assess the supportability of equipment to achieve an optimised lifecycle for the asset.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering, supply support, maintenance and operations teams to optimise equipment availability.
  • Plan and execute reliability improvement tasks with a proactive mindset
  • Applying Reliability and Cost models to develop strategies that optimise asset performance.

About YOU

  • A Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field
  • Minimum experience of 5-10 years in Engineering or Asset Management.
  • Proven experience in asset management, equipment monitoring, maintenance, and safety auditing
  • Proficiency in data reporting, RAM metrics, and the application of industry best practices
  • Strong understanding of DCACAS (Data Collection and Corrective Action System) / FRACAS (Failure Reporting and Corrective action system) and LSA (Logistic Support Analysis) including, but not limited to, FMECA (failure mode effect criticality analysis), RCM (Reliability Centred Maintenance), MTA (Maintenance Task Analysis) and LORA (Level of Repair Analysis).
  • Demonstrated experience in developing or interpreting Reliability Block Modelling, Sparing and Cost models using tools similar to Reliasoft, MADe, ACEIT, OPUS, etc.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence, communicate, and resolve conflict effectively
  • Advanced understanding of engineering standards, RCA (Root Cause Analysis approach) and systems engineering.
