About us Part of Morris Escapes, a curated portfolio of boutique sustainable lodges and experiences that showcase Far North Queensland's diverse REEF - OUTBACK - HINTERLAND. Accommodating just 28 guests at one time, Orpheus is an all-inclusive, private island lodge, and part of Luxury Lodges of Australia. With only 14 rooms, suites and villas, Orpheus is the ultimate secluded, unspoilt tropical paradise stretching across 11km of immaculate turquoise coastline.

We are looking for a passionate Chef de Partie to join our team, through until the end of January

To be considered for this exciting opportunity you must be/have:

  • Excellent technical knowledge and experience in all cooking techniques and styles.
  • Experience creating daily changing menus.
  • A supportive and strong team member.
  • Exceptional time management and organisational skills, with the ability to work well under pressure.
  • Ability to cater for dietaries without compromising on enjoyment.
  • Reliable and flexible attitude.
  • A natural communicator who finds it easy to chat to guests & other staff

Skills & requirements

  • Must be trade qualified
  • Minimum two years experience within a similar standard of kitchen
  • Experience in luxury lodges or retreats is essential
  • Excellent technical knowledge and experience in all cooking techniques and styles
  • Experience in daily changing menus is favourable
  • Ability to work autonomously
  • Supportive and strong team player
  • Exceptional time management and organisational skills
  • Flexible approach

Responsibilities

  • Ensure consistency and highest quality in taste, presentation and appropriate food for guests at luxury lodge
  • Preparation of hot and cold food, including breakfast, lunch and dinner service
  • Working cohesively and productively with all other departments of the business
