Superintendent – Mine Geology

Permanent | FIFO 8:6 | Gold Mining | WA

A well-established gold producer with active open-pit operations in regional WA is expanding its technical leadership team. With multiple deposits in production and a strong growth pipeline, the business is strengthening its site-based geology capability to support ongoing development and future opportunities.

The Role

We are seeking an experienced Superintendent Mine Geology to lead all geological activities across an operating open-pit gold mine while also supporting near-mine resource development. This role is a blend of leadership, technical oversight, and hands-on involvement in day-to-day production geology.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring geological work programs are aligned with the mine plan and production schedules.
  • Overseeing daily, weekly and monthly planning to meet grade and output targets.
  • Managing the full cycle of grade control, resource interpretation and reconciliation to mill performance.
  • Working closely with mine planning to optimise extraction and ensure cohesive scheduling.
  • Oversight of geological systems, data management and QA/QC processes.
  • Providing leadership, mentoring and guidance to technical staff and contractors.
  • Collaborating effectively with operations, drill & blast, and planning teams.
Requirements
About You
  • Degree in Geology or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience supervising and developing technical teams.
  • Strong background in open-pit gold geology and production environments.
  • Proven competency in grade control, reconciliation and geological reporting.
  • Forward-thinking, adaptable and capable of developing practical, well-considered work plans.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with mining software such as Surpac, Datamine, Leapfrog or similar.
  • A leadership style that is hands-on, supportive and operationally aligned.
