JYC Projects Pty Ltd is a growing construction company based in Canberra, providing services across painting, tiling, waterproofing, and general building works. Due to continued business expansion, we are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Construction Estimator to join our team.

The Construction Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates and tender submissions for residential and commercial projects. The role includes reviewing drawings, completing quantity take-offs, sourcing subcontractor and supplier quotations, preparing Bills of Quantities, and supporting project budgeting and cost control throughout the project lifecycle.

• Prepare detailed cost estimates, tenders, and Bills of Quantities
• Review plans, specifications, and scopes of work
• Perform material and labour quantity take-offs
• Request and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations
• Assist with budget preparation and cost monitoring
• Maintain and update pricing databases
• Communicate with builders, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal staff
• Support project managers and company directors where required

• Prior estimating experience preferred (not essential)
• Strong knowledge of construction materials and building processes
• Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Experience with take-off software (e.g., Bluebeam, Planswift) highly regarded
